about
My major area of practice has always been firmly rooted in the documentary genre. I am fascinated by the spiritual beliefs and religious activities that people engage in and this has become the major body of work I have been undertaking.

This has led me to photograph various subjects including: a Samoan Church, an American exorcist, a Brazilian faith healer, 6 months spent in an Indian hospice, the 2007 Ardh Mela, Allahabad, India, a pilgrimage mountain in Sri Lanka, a retirement home in Varanasi, India, the vegetarian festival in Phuket, Thailand, and, in 2025 the world's largest religious gathering as approximately 75 million Hindu pilgrims gathered at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers at the Maha Kumbh Mela, Praygraj, India.

I mix this documentary practice with  photographic education, teaching photography in a variety of educational settings including Wellington High School's Community Education Centre, Photocourse NZ - Photographic Courses & Workshops at Photospace Gallery, Wellington and previously at several tertiary institutions.
